Coastal Orthopaedics, with offices in Norwalk, Westport, Darien and New Canaan, signed up 8 team members for the Bike CT Challenge, which was held on July 25, & 26. Three Coastal physicians, Dr. Jeffrey V. DeLuca, Dr. T. Jay Kleeman and Dr. Nicholas Poliforni rode 25 miles each while 4 other team members rode 10 miles. Other Coastal Team members include: Dr. Paul Protomastro, Donna Frydrych, Steve Frydrych, Doris Haniquet and Jacquelyn Spezzano.
The team has raised $20,640 to-date to support the cause even though they set a goal of $15,000, which they have already far surpassed and will be collecting for another 56 days. Dr. T. Jay Kleeman earned the most for the team and is currently in 5th place overall for money raised for the charity.
This important event helps raise funds for cancer survivors for special programs and research in exercise, nutrition and psychosocial support. The mission of the Bike CT Challenge is to empower cancer survivors to live longer, happier, healthier lives, by creating and funding programs, offering credible resources, and building community support.
