OrthoConnecticut cares about the health and safety of our patients and staff. In an effort to help flatten the curve of COVID-19 and keep our patients, providers, and staff safe, we have been open for urgent matters only. We will begin seeing a limited number of patients who require in-person visits beginning May 11th. Telemedicine appointments continue to be available for non-urgent care and consultations.

Safety Precautions

We respectfully ask that our adult patients do not have visitors accompany them to the center during their visit. We request that only one parent or guardian accompany pediatric patients during their visit.
If your physician recommends an in-person office visit, be assured that OrthoConnecticut is taking many precautions to ensure your safety while in the office. These include:

  • Taking every patient’s temperature upon arrival
  • Making sure all patients have and are wearing masks at all times
  • Maintaining recommended physical distance from other patients
  • Limiting the number of physicians who are seeing patients in our offices, thereby limiting patient traffic flow
  • Cleaning patient exam rooms between patients
  • Cleaning common areas and registration desks throughout the day
  • All staff are wearing masks and personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
Please note that our Danbury Riverview office location is particularly spacious, allowing us to meet the recommended social distancing guidelines.

Telemedicine - Videoconferencing with Your Physician

The COVID-19 crisis is requiring medical practitioners to look for new and creative solutions to treat patients during this pandemic. We need to balance patient care with protecting staff and the patient community. Our Telemedicine service will enable patients with non-urgent orthopedic needs to have a virtual office visit through a video call with their physician.

To request a Telemedicine appointment, please call your OrthoConnecticut office.

All Telemedicine appointments must be booked by phone:

Danbury 203-797-1500
Norwalk 203-845-2200
New Milford    860-355-8000

Please note that the process for submitting insurance claims remains the same as for an in-person office visit.

If Your Surgery is Postponed

The COVID-19 pandemic has required that we take protective measures to prevent the spread of the disease. We are postponing elective surgeries to allow resources to be available for severely ill patients who may need them.

An elective surgery is a procedure that is done for a medical condition that is not urgent or life-threatening. Many orthopedic procedures are elective, and while your condition may be painful or limit your movement, it is usually not life-threatening. Surgery can be safely postponed. We recognize this may be incredibly disappointing. While you wait for your new surgical date, there are some simple nonsurgical treatments that can help alleviate painful symptoms. OrthoConnecticut will continue to provide quality care while keeping our patients and staff safe by limiting unnecessary risk and exposure.  We are here for you during these difficult times and wish you and your family good health.

Thank you for your patience while we navigate this unprecedented environment. Be well.
